Troubleshooting

General Troubleshooting Steps

Before contacting support, please try these general troubleshooting steps:

Check Extension Permissions

Go to Settings > Safari > Extensions and ensure Clarity Reader is enabled with appropriate permissions.

Restart Safari

Close Safari completely and reopen it. On iOS, swipe up from the bottom and swipe Safari away.

Restart Your Device

A simple device restart can resolve many temporary issues.

Check for Updates

Make sure you have the latest version of the app from the App Store and the latest Safari/OS version.

Reinstall the Extension

If all else fails, uninstall the app and reinstall it from the App Store. Note that this will reset your preferences.

Known Limitations

  • The extension may not work on websites with paywalls or login requirements
  • Some dynamically loaded content may not be captured
  • Certain website layouts may result in incomplete or improperly formatted extraction
  • The extension is designed for article content and may not work well on other page types
