Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Clarity Reader for Safari (the "Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Extension.
Clarity Reader for Safari is developed and operated by Storq Labs BV ("we," "us," or "our"), an independent developer.
2. Description of Service
Clarity Reader for Safari is a Safari extension that:
- Converts cluttered web pages into clean, readable article format
- Uses Mozilla's Readability.js library to extract article content
- Provides customizable themes (light, sepia, dark)
- Offers adjustable typography settings
- Stores all settings locally on your device
3. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the Extension for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works based on the Extension without our prior written consent.
4. Third-Party Content
The Extension extracts and reformats content from third-party websites. Please understand:
- Content Ownership: All extracted content belongs to the original publishers and content creators. We do not claim ownership of any third-party content.
- No Control: We have no control over the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party websites.
- No Endorsement: Extraction and display of third-party content does not imply our endorsement of that content.
- User Responsibility: You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of the websites you visit.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
IMPORTANT: THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We specifically disclaim all warranties including, but not limited to:
- Functionality: We do not guarantee the Extension will work on all websites. Many websites use complex layouts, paywalls, or anti-scraping measures that may prevent content extraction.
- Accuracy: We do not guarantee that extracted content will be complete, accurate, or properly formatted. Some content may be missing, incorrectly extracted, or display improperly.
- Availability: We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- Compatibility: We do not guarantee compatibility with all versions of Safari, iOS, iPadOS, or macOS.
6. Limitation of Liability
IMPORTANT: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORQ LABS BV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION.
This includes, without limitation, damages for:
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Content extraction failures or inaccuracies
- Inability to access or use certain websites
- Any actions taken based on extracted content
- Interaction with third-party websites or their terms of service
Our total liability for any claims arising from the Extension shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Extension.
7. Intellectual Property
The Extension, including its code, design, graphics, and documentation, is protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The Extension uses Mozilla Readability.js, which is licensed under the MIT License. Our use of this library does not affect your rights or obligations under these Terms.
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the Extension to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
- Use the Extension to collect or harvest content in violation of third-party terms of service
- Redistribute, sell, or sublicense the Extension without our permission
- Use the Extension for any unlawful purpose
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Storq Labs BV and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Extension or violation of these Terms.
10. Refunds
All purchases of Clarity Reader for Safari are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not process payments directly and do not have access to your payment information.
Refund requests must be directed to Apple. Please visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund. Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policies.
11. Modifications and Termination
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Extension at any time
- Update these Terms at any time
- Terminate your license to use the Extension if you violate these Terms
Continued use of the Extension after any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Extension shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Storq Labs BV regarding the Extension and supersede any prior agreements.
