1. Introduction

Welcome to Forfeit: Habit Commitment ("Forfeit," the "App"), a habit tracking application developed by Storqlabs ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains our data practices and your privacy rights when using the App.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Forfeit stores the following information exclusively on your device using AsyncStorage and local file storage:

• Habit Contract Data: Habit name, category, frequency, duration, and stake amount
• Photo Proofs: Saved as local file URIs on your device only — never uploaded or transmitted
• Timer Durations: Recorded locally as proof of habit completion
• Completion History: Daily check-in records, streaks, and milestone data
• Financial Tracking: Money risked, lost, and saved across contracts (all symbolic, calculated locally)
• User Preferences: Currency, notification time, week start day, and other settings

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be absolutely clear about what we do NOT do:

• We do NOT collect any personal identifying information (no name, email, phone number, or address)
• We do NOT require account creation or login
• We do NOT transmit any data to external servers
• We do NOT collect or transmit your location
• We do NOT collect device identifiers
• We do NOT use analytics, tracking SDKs, or telemetry (no Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar)
• We do NOT use advertising SDKs
• We do NOT use crash reporting services (no Crashlytics or similar)
• We do NOT sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties
• We do NOT upload your photos, habit data, or any other content

4. Camera and Photo Library Access

Forfeit may request access to your camera and photo library for the sole purpose of submitting photo proof of habit completion:

• Camera: Used to take photos as proof of habit completion. Photos are saved as local file URIs on your device only.
• Photo Library: Used to select existing photos as proof. Selected photos remain on your device.

5. Other Permissions

• Microphone: Declared in Info.plist but not actively used by the app. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Push Notifications: Optional and user-controlled. Used solely for daily habit reminders. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device — no data is sent to external servers.
• Haptics/Vibration: Used for UI feedback only. No data is collected.
• Device Locale: Read once at first launch to auto-detect your preferred currency (EUR, USD, or GBP). The locale is not stored, transmitted, or used for tracking purposes.

6. Third-Party Services

Forfeit uses the following third-party technologies:

• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: For in-app purchase transactions (Pro subscription) only. Governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies. We do not directly process payments.
• expo-store-review: Triggers the native App Store review prompt. No data is sent by the app — this is a standard iOS/Android system feature.

The app does NOT use:

• No analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
• No advertising SDKs
• No crash reporting (no Crashlytics)
• No social media SDKs
• No cookies or similar tracking technologies

7. Commitment Contracts and Stakes Disclaimer

Stake amounts, money "risked," money "lost," and money "saved" are calculated locally on your device for motivational purposes. No financial transactions occur through the app (except Pro subscription purchases through Apple/Google). We do not collect, hold, or transfer any money related to habit stakes.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Retention: Data persists on your device as long as the app is installed
• Deletion: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data, including contracts, photo proofs, and settings. This is NOT recoverable.
• In-App Deletion: You may delete individual contracts or clear all data within the app
• No Server Data: There is no data on our servers to delete because we never collect any

9. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since we do not collect any data whatsoever, there is no risk of collecting children's data. However, this app involves concepts of financial stakes and commitment contracts that are designed for young adults and adults.

10. International Users

Forfeit is available worldwide through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Since all data is stored locally on your device and we do not transmit any data:

• There are no international data transfers
• Your data never leaves your device
• GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection regulations are respected by design (no data collection = no data processing concerns)

11. Your Rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

• Access: All your data is on your device and accessible to you
• Deletion: Uninstall the app or use in-app settings to delete all data
• Portability: Your data remains on your device; there are no accounts or cloud storage
• Restriction: You control all settings and can disable any functionality at any time

Since we do not collect or process your personal data, traditional data subject rights (such as GDPR access requests) are not applicable — you already have full access to and control over all your data.

12. No Medical, Financial, or Professional Advice

By using this app, you acknowledge that it is provided as a self-motivation tool only and that we make no medical, psychological, financial, or therapeutic claims.

13. Future Data Collection

We currently do not collect any data. However, we reserve the right to introduce analytics, crash reporting, or other data collection features in future versions of the app. If we do, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly, and we will notify users through app updates or in-app notifications where feasible. Any future data collection will comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Storqlabs shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of this app, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data due to app uninstallation or device issues
• Inability to recover photo proofs or habit history
• Any psychological or emotional effects of using commitment contracts
• Any financial decisions made based on stake tracking
• Force majeure events beyond our reasonable control

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Storqlabs from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app.

16. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Material changes may be communicated through app updates or notifications where feasible.
