Welcome to Puzzle Journal, a daily brain training app developed by Storq Labs BV. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Collect

Puzzle Journal stores the following information locally on your device only using AsyncStorage:

• Daily Puzzle Completion State: Which puzzles you've completed today
• Puzzle Results: Time taken, scores, and attempts for each puzzle
• Streak Counter: Consecutive days of completing all 5 puzzles
• User Preferences: Any app settings you configure

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be absolutely clear about what we do NOT do:

• We do NOT require user registration or accounts
• We do NOT collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
• We do NOT use analytics or tracking services (no Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
• We do NOT display advertisements
• We do NOT share data with third parties
• We do NOT sync data to cloud servers
• We do NOT access your contacts, camera, microphone, or location
• We do NOT use cookies or web tracking
• We do NOT collect device identifiers for tracking purposes
• We do NOT store any data on external servers
• We do NOT use crash reporting services (no Sentry, Crashlytics, etc.)
• We do NOT transmit any data over the internet

4. How the App Works

Puzzle Journal operates entirely on your device:

• All puzzle content (365 days worth) is bundled within the app
• The app works completely offline with no internet connection required
• All puzzle progress and calculations happen locally on your device
• Streak data and results are stored in local device storage (AsyncStorage)
• Daily puzzle refresh is based on your device's local time (midnight)
• No data is ever sent to our servers or any third-party servers

Puzzle Journal features 5 daily puzzle types: Word Shift, Group It, Estimate, Odd One Out, and Double Meaning. All puzzle content and logic runs entirely on your device.

5. Third-Party Services

Unlike most apps, Puzzle Journal integrates zero external services:

• No analytics SDKs
• No advertising networks
• No crash reporting services
• No social login or authentication services
• No cloud storage or sync services

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Their respective privacy policies and terms of service apply to the download and installation process:

6. Permissions Requested

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or any other device capabilities. It only uses local storage for saving your puzzle progress.

7. Data Storage and Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device:

• Data persists until you delete the app
• No server-side storage exists
• No backups are made to developer-controlled servers
• iCloud/Google backup behavior is controlled by your device settings

To delete all app data:

• Simply uninstall the app from your device

There is no data stored on our servers to delete because we never collect any data in the first place.

8. Children's Privacy

Puzzle Journal is appropriate for all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information from anyone, there is no risk of collecting children's data. The app:

• Contains no age-restricted content
• Collects no personal data from any user
• Has no user accounts or registration
• Has no social features or communication capabilities
• Has no advertising
• Has no in-app purchases

The app is safe for users of all ages in compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).

9. International Users

Since we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data:

• GDPR (EU): No personal data processing occurs. All data remains on your device under your control. No international data transfers take place.
• CCPA (California): We do not sell personal information because we do not collect any.
• Other Jurisdictions: Because no data leaves your device, the app complies with data protection laws globally.

10. Device-Level Data Collection

While Puzzle Journal collects no data, please be aware that the operating system (iOS or Android) and the app stores (Apple App Store or Google Play) may collect certain information about your device and app usage according to their own privacy policies. This is outside our control and we have no access to this information.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If we make material changes that affect your privacy rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the app or other means.

12. Service Availability & Discontinuation

By using Puzzle Journal, you acknowledge and agree that:

• We may discontinue the App at any time without prior notice
• We make no guarantee of continued service availability
• Features may be added, changed, or removed at our sole discretion
• We are under no obligation to maintain, update, or support the App
• You should not rely on the continued availability of this App

13. Entertainment Disclaimer

Puzzle Journal is provided for entertainment purposes only. The puzzles, including the "Estimate" puzzles which reference real-world statistics, are designed for fun and mental stimulation. We make no warranty of accuracy for any trivia, statistics, or factual content within the app. Real-world statistics may become outdated over time.
