1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Puzzle Journal (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Puzzle Journal is developed and operated by Storq Labs BV ("we," "us," or "our"), an independent developer based in the Netherlands.

2. Description of Service

Puzzle Journal is a daily brain training app featuring 5 unique puzzle types:

• Word Shift: Transform one word into another by changing one letter at a time
• Group It: Sort 16 words into 4 categories based on hidden connections
• Estimate: Guess real-world statistics using a slider
• Odd One Out: Identify which of 4 items doesn't belong
• Double Meaning: Solve wordplay clues where one word fits two descriptions

The app is designed as an "anti-addiction" experience - users complete 5 puzzles daily in 5-10 minutes, then are encouraged to return tomorrow rather than endless engagement.

3. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.

4. Pricing and Monetization

Puzzle Journal is currently offered as a free app:

• No in-app purchases required
• No subscriptions
• No advertisements
• All features available at no cost

We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscriptions, or advertisements in future versions of the App at our sole discretion. Any such changes will be communicated through app updates.

5. Entertainment Disclaimer

Please understand the following:

• No Educational Claims: Puzzles are designed for fun and mental stimulation, not as validated cognitive training
• Trivia Accuracy: Real-world statistics in "Estimate" puzzles may become outdated over time. We make no warranty of accuracy.
• No Performance Guarantees: We make no claims about cognitive benefits, brain improvement, or skill development
• Puzzle Difficulty: We make no guarantee of puzzle difficulty, fairness, or solvability
• Results Are Local: Scores, streaks, and performance metrics are calculated locally on your device and are not verified or validated
• No Real Comparisons: Any performance comparisons or rankings are estimates based on bundled data, not actual user statistics

6. App Functionality and Limitations

Please be aware of the following technical aspects:

• Daily Reset: New puzzles become available at midnight based on your device's local time
• Finite Content: The app contains 365 days of puzzle content bundled within the app
• Offline Operation: The app works entirely offline with no internet connection required
• Single Player: There are no multiplayer or social features
• Local Data Only: All progress is stored locally on your device
• Share Feature: Any sharing uses your device's native sharing capabilities - no data is transmitted to our servers

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we specifically disclaim all warranties including, but not limited to:

• Merchantability: No warranty that the App is fit for sale or general use
• Fitness for Particular Purpose: No warranty that the App will meet your specific requirements
• Non-Infringement: No warranty that the App does not infringe third-party rights
• Error-Free Operation: No warranty that the App will operate without errors or interruptions
• Accuracy: No warranty that puzzles, answers, statistics, or calculations are accurate
• Availability: No warranty of uninterrupted service or future availability
• Compatibility: No guarantee of compatibility with all iOS or Android versions
• Data Persistence: No warranty that your progress or streak data will be preserved

8. Limitation of Liability

This includes, without limitation, damages for:

• Data Loss: Lost progress, streaks, or settings due to app deletion, OS updates, or device issues
• Emotional Distress: Frustration from puzzles, broken streaks, or lost progress
• Time Investment: Time spent playing puzzles or troubleshooting issues
• Reliance on Content: Any decisions made based on trivia or statistics presented in puzzles
• Device Issues: Battery drain or device performance issues from app use
• Lost Profits: Any business or personal financial losses

Maximum Liability: Since Puzzle Journal is a free app with no purchases, our total liability for any claims arising from the App shall not exceed zero dollars ($0.00 USD).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Data Loss Disclaimer

All data is stored locally on your device. We provide no guarantee of data persistence:

• Streak data may be lost if the app is uninstalled and reinstalled
• Local storage can be cleared by iOS, Android, or user actions
• Deleting the app will delete all stored data permanently
• OS updates may affect local storage
• We cannot recover lost data under any circumstances
• You are responsible for any records you wish to preserve

10. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, graphics, puzzles, puzzle content, and documentation, is protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Storq Labs BV.

Puzzle formats and game mechanics similar to popular word games may exist elsewhere. We make no exclusive claim to general puzzle concepts, only to our specific implementation and content.

11. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Extract, copy, or redistribute puzzle content
• Redistribute, sell, or sublicense the App
• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Use the App in violation of Apple's or Google's terms of service
• Use the App for commercial purposes without written consent
• Attempt to manipulate or falsify streak data or puzzle results
• Create automated tools to solve puzzles

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Storq Labs BV and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any reliance on puzzle content or trivia accuracy
• Any claims related to lost progress or streak data

13. App Availability & Discontinuation

We reserve the absolute right to:

• Discontinue the App entirely at any time without notice
• Modify, add, or remove App features without notice
• Stop providing updates, support, or maintenance at any time
• Remove the App from app stores
• Change these Terms at any time
• Terminate your license to use the App if you violate these Terms

We provide no guarantee of future updates, new puzzle content, or OS version compatibility. Continued use of the App after any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution: Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, you agree to contact us at hello@storqlabs.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

Individual Basis: To the extent permitted by law, any disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Storq Labs BV regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements, understandings, or representations.
