General Troubleshooting Steps

Before contacting support, please try these steps:

Check Screen Time Authorization

Go to Settings > Screen Time and ensure it's enabled. The app cannot function without Screen Time authorization.

Verify App Selection

Open StopBrainRot and confirm you've selected apps to block. Check that your blocking schedule is currently active.

Restart the App

Force close StopBrainRot and reopen it. On iOS, swipe up from the bottom and swipe the app away.

Restart Your Device

A device restart can resolve many temporary issues with Screen Time APIs.

Reinstall if Necessary

If nothing else works, uninstall and reinstall the app. Note: This will reset all your settings and statistics.

Known Limitations

  • Cannot block Safari, Settings, Phone, Messages, or core system apps (iOS limitation)
  • Requires iOS 16.0 or later
  • iPhone only (no iPad support currently)
  • Does not work in iOS Simulator (physical device required)
  • Settings do not sync between devices
  • iOS updates may temporarily affect blocking functionality
  • Screen Time must be enabled at the iOS level for blocking to work

Refund Requests

All purchases are processed through Apple. We cannot process refunds directly. Please visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund from Apple.
